KFC Sponsored Swim 6.5.17|
KFC organised a sponsored swim on Saturday 7th May 2017. The children had lots of fun swimming lengths and breadths and then ate yummy cakes that Miss Boddie and Vanessa (Graces's Mum) had baked! Great fun had by all!
Our PTA is known as ‘Kelbrook Friends Committee’ so that we can include everyone with an association to our School - parents, guardians, grandparents, staff, voluntary helpers, teachers, parents of school leavers etc. We feel that school should be at the heart of the community and hope that we respresent this.
We have a Committee of 13 regular members:
Chair - Moira Drummond-Burnett (Mum to Amelia now at Park High School)
Vice Chair - Joanne Kitson ( Mum to Ava in Class 4 and Erin in Class 3)
Secretary - Rachel Pearson (Mum to John in Class 4)
Treasurer - Amanda Morgan (Mum to Beth and Hollie in Class 3)
Plus Angela Dugdale and Christine Townson as school representatives.
We would also like to thank our other regular volunteers - Laura Robinson, Faye Strickland, Christine Elley, Karen Taylor, Clare Bown, Andy Drummond, Nok Rushton and all the teachers and Father Christmas for their continued support. However, you do not need to be a committee member to help run a stall at an event, provide a raffle prize, help with refreshments, make suggestions for fundraising activities etc. The school benefits financially and socially from all your efforts, which are greatly appreciated.
We are very grateful to Clare and Stephen Bown, Select Auto Bodies (parents of Ollie Class 3) who very generously match fund our school discos doubling the amount raised.
During 2017-2018 Christine Elley very kindley organised two events at Kelbrook Village Hall for KFC. The first event was a comedy night which raised £370.60 and the second event was a Soul Night Disco raised £175.00. She is hoping to organise more events in 2018-2019.
Funds raised by Kelbrook Friends Committee are used to enhance the school environment for your child, and in turn we would love you to get involved with our activities. The current financial climate makes fundraising for school more important than ever.
